The Simpsons!
This wonderful piece of Corn Palaceia is from The Simpsons Comic #69 (I scanned it from the "Jam-Packed Jamboree" trade paperback). It was near the end of the book and the strip's title is "How Marge Got Her Curtains Back". In it Homer somehow caught the corn cob print curtains above the kitchen sink in the garbage disposal. Marge made those herself. She was upset and ordered more corn cob print fabric. After two bolts of the wrong prints she got the little bueat seen in the picture above. She should be happy! I would love to have a mini Corn Palace for my kitsch-ian!

Rifftrax
Here's a link to the Rifftrax riff of "The Phantom Menace": http://www.rifftrax.com/rifftrax/star-wars-episode-i-phantom-menace
In it Kevin W. Murphy mentions Mitchell, SD several times. At least once mentioning the Corn Palace!
The rest of the riff is quite funny, too!

The World's Only Corn Palace!
This, my friends, is my Corn Palace blog! A collection of things related to the Mighty Palace of Corn in Mitchell South Dakota! It's marvelous, unique, and, yes, silly, but I like it! Here's a picture of from 2008:
I went to college in Mitchell, met my wife there, and graduated inside the Corn Palace.
Here's a pic of the inside. From a graduation, but not mine.
I will add posts about Corn Palace-related things as I find them. If you have any fun Corn Palace information, send it to me at pondercouch@gmail.com!
